The Farm In the media
Updates on our journey
We are busy this month applying to grants and continuing to source partnerships for The Farm. We requested letters of support from our community for our grant applications and were thrilled to receive letters from the City of Airdrie, Alberta Beef Producers, Ag For Life, United Safety, Airdrie & District Agricultural Society, and Tomi Farms Ltd.. Letters continue to come in and we can't be more grateful to those who took time out of their busy day to support our project.
This month The Farm was presented to the Rocky View Schools Board of Trustees. It was met with support from the fantastic RVS Trustees who see the value in offering an agricultural-based education program to our students.
On December 17th the Farm Team hosted its first Farm event at Main Street BBQ in Airdrie. We spread the word via digital and hand delivered invitations to ranchers, local businesses and industry leaders. With over 70 attendees, it was clear there was a lot of interest in this endeavour. We had representation from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry; Alberta Beef Producers; Rocky View County; Par Auto Parts; Airdrie & District Agricultural Society; Shoestring Ranch; Sage Creek Permaculture; United Safety; City of Airdrie Community Development; Bayer Crop Science; as well as local ranchers, farmers and Rocky View Teachers.
Attendees completed surveys that asked what kind of resources, expertise and experience individuals and organizations could offer The Farm. The responses have been incredibly positive. There is a lot of community and industry support and excitement for The Farm.
